The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is a national organization that represents professional, research, and credentialing needs of speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and speech-language-hearing scientists. Each May, ASHA celebrates Better Hearing and Speech Month. This annual celebration gives professionals in the field an opportunity to increase awareness regarding various hearing and communication disorders that impact individuals across the lifespan. The process of listening, hearing, understanding, organizing thoughts, and moving musculature to express thoughts involves many steps.
