About the Service Provider
Devon Brunson, MS, CCC-SLP, CBIS (she, her, hers) is a speech-language pathologist who resides in the Charlotte, North Carolina metropolitan area. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in hearing and speech sciences from the University of Maryland - College Park (2012) and a Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (2015). Devon possesses the certificate of clinical competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and has earned the distinction of certified brain injury specialist (CBIS) from the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists.
Devon is licensed as a practitioner in the states of Georgia, Maryland, and North Carolina. She has experience across various clinical settings, including: community-based early intervention, school-based therapy, and inpatient and outpatient therapy for children and adults. Devon has served as a facilitator of virtual support groups through the non-profit Love Your Brain. She also currently serves in the role as faculty assistant through the Department of Hearing & Speech Sciences at the University of Maryland-College Park, supervising undergraduate and graduate speech-language pathology students in the provision of services for neurodivergent teens and young adults.
Devon’s greatest passion is making everyday experiences easier for adults. Differences in expression, comprehension, social engagement, and thinking can happen for various reasons. However, this should not impede individuals from engaging in home, community, or job-related activities. Devon’s role as a speech-language pathologist is to help aid in the exploration of cognitive and communicative strategies which can be used to support daily functioning and interactions with social partners. Her ultimate goal is to incorporate a holistic view of persons seeking therapeutic guidance so that they may work towards implementing functional tools which can be seamlessly incorporated throughout their day.
